Foothill Ranch Kids Foundation welcomes you to the 2009-2010 School Year!

As you know, the proposed state budget cuts to education are devastating! In the last 4 years, our district funds have been been cut by over 17%. The schools in Saddleback Valley Unified School District are operating on skeletal staffing. With increased class sizes and many lost programs, the role of the Foothill Ranch Kids Foundation has become even more important to our elementary school that serves 1,300 children in K-6th grades. Now more than ever, it is clear that California public schools must rely on private donations to stay competitive with the rest of the nation and world. Here at Foothill Ranch Elementary School we have the team, the organization, and the vision for such a partnership between the school and the community.

This year, the Foothill Ranch Kids Foundation has privately funded the salaries of our librarian, a computer lab technician, and a campus supervisor. In addition, we provide the technological license for 1,300 students to use Study Island, vital school supplies, and academic grade level workbooks lost in the budget cuts. The Foundation is also actively seeking corporate sponsors, who will partner with our school and highly trained staff, to make it a technological leader in our district of 33,000 students.

To help offset the budget cuts in the 2010-11 school year, the Foothill Ranch Kids Foundation (FRKF) is busy with Spring fundraising events. We are getting ready for our 3rd Annual Silent Auction on April 22, 2010 at the Food Court next to Regal Theater in Foothill Ranch. Last year we netted $20,000 in just four hours of community fun at the Food Court! Please make sure you come support the creativity of our teaching staff as they auction activities to do with the students! The Foundation will also be offering convenient school supply kits by grade level for all students next Fall. These kits can be purchased by parents in June and they will be delivered to your home in August. What a great way to be prepared for the school year and help the school at the same time!
